Encouraging Word

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.  Philippians 2:13

Nothing….

I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever, and I know that’s not the case…but still feels that way. This past weekend was pretty fun. Saturday me, Terra and my mom went to see Riverdance at the Orpheum….it was awesome. Makes you wanna get up and dance like that. Their feet move so fast there’s no way I would even try doing that! Sunday Eddie and I went to see the movie “He’s Just Not That Into You”…and it was horrible. I really thought with the all star cast that was playing in it, it’d be worth watching, but it wasn’t and I was ready to leave before it was over, but Eddie wouldn’t let me because we paid for it. Afterwards we went to Steak N Shake in Southaven and I had the BEST Double Chocolate Fudge shake. Like I need that right?

I do have some good news…Monday my boss called me in to her office and asked me if I’d be interested in taking over the Compensation Administration for the company, comes with ALOT of responsibility AND a raise! Of course I said yes, so I started training in that position yesterday. I’m still working through Kelly’s though, they haven’t hired me permanent. I’m thinking they keep it like that so they don’t have to pay benefits. The only really bad thing about that is that when I go on vacation in June for a week or I miss a day….I don’t get paid. BUT…it’s a step in the right direction and I will have something to do everyday to keep me occupied and my brain active. Who knows….maybe one day the economy will return to normal and they’ll hire me permanent!

Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.   Acts 16:31

Flu

It’s been a week of sickness in my household. Terra started getting sick Sunday night and I thought it was just a cold. Monday morning when I woke up to get ready for work I went to check on her since she was out of school for President’s Day, and her fever was almost 105!!!  She was lifeless. Needless to say I made a doctors appointment and took her. She had type B Flu…whatever that is. Since Monday she’s been running a fever between 102 and 105 and that’s WITH Motrin. I think we’re on the mend now though…it’s the third day and luckily we caught it within the first 48 hours so they were able to prescribe medicine for her, and she looks ALOT better today. I think I’ll be able to make it to work tomorrow. Not that I’m excited about that, but when I’m off work I don’t get paid, so that hurts us.

Here are the family pictures we had taken…finally got them back:

How majestic is He?

Terra and I were sitting in the car this morning waiting on her bus, and I looked over to the right and saw the most beautiful sunrise. I got caught up in the wonder of what God gives us almost everyday that most us of never take the time to appreciate. I told Terra I wished I had my camera, and she said”It’s in the back seat mom”…so I HAD to take pictures!

Church

I just have to say that I can’t wait until Sunday. I hate wishing my weekend away like that, but I had to miss church last Sunday due to a horrible migraine, and it’s too far to drive on Wednesdays after working all day, so I can’t WAIT to get to church and Sunday school Sunday!!  I miss hearing my Pastor preach and just being in the house of God.

CAN’T WAIT!!

This is real love-not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.  1 John 4:10

Ticket

I got 2 tickets around the end of January, one for doing 53 in a 40 and another for no proof of insurance. The no insurance ticket was a bogus ticket because I DID have insurance, it’s just that I hadn’t printed out my most recent insurance card, so the one I had was expired, and the cop was a jerk. Anyhow I went to court over it yesterday and pleaded no contest to both the charges. It STILL cost me $160!!!!!!!!!!!  I’m still fuming over it. Here I am trying to get my bills caught up from not having a job for two months and then they pop me with $160 I can’t afford. It goes without saying that I’ll slow my butt down from now on….but I’ll be mad about that money for awhile!

Encouraging Word

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up His life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16

Gulf Shores!!!!

YAY!! My mom bid on a weeks vacation in Gulf Shores in a 3 bedroom/2 bath condo….and WON it!  She got the condo for less than half of what it rents normally a week! YIPPPEEE! So we’re looking to be going on vacation around June 5th…but that’s not set in stone yet! I’m SO excited!
